The float is Toe Ring It is a specialty brand (for toe rings) but originally it was a custom-made jewelry salon in Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, and has had a track record of producing jewelry for about 38 years.

Toe Ring I started working on this project 15 years ago when a customer asked me to order a toe ring, and I first met the ring on my toe.

As you know, metal towlings can be painful depending on how you wear them, so you should wear them by bending the metal when wearing them. Designs with stones are only plain, as the stones can be removed when bent and stretched.

However, if you're going to decorate your feet, it's probably best to have something that is as cute as possible and that will make your feet look beautiful. We have begun designing it with a gorgeous, large motif that fits perfectly. However, even if it is a rubber band, the design part will sway every time you walk, making it difficult to walk. (-_-;)After many prototypes, I came across the current SP structure. \(^o^)/

It was a structure that was unlikely to happen, but after applying for a utility model and a patent, both were acquired, they decided to launch a towling brand, and Floats was born.

By using transparent rubber as the arms, the brand name was Floats!, and it debuted in 2008, with the image of jewelry floating on the toes. Due to the sense of freedom of the toes, the number of designs has increased year by year and exceeded 400.

Customers have said, "I want to wear it on my fingers too!" or "I've already worn it on my hands!", but because transparent rubber is stretchy, there is a problem with dirt adhering and deterioration. It wasn't facing the fingers of my hand.

At first, I was too particular about the arms being transparent, just like the towling, so I looked for transparent material that didn't get dirty, and I noticed the fiber optic material. We proceeded with a prototype to see if we could quickly process it into a coil shape, but we didn't know about it (-_-;) the floating ring.

However, this optical fiber is often fragile and repairs are often brought in, so we had to look for the next material.

The coil-shaped form of this optical furber was suitable for size-free, so this time I searched for a metal that could be stored in a coil shape, so I came across a titanium alloy... ..Titanium alloy is a completely black metal and is not suitable for the gorgeous jewelry that Floats aims for. I tried various things, such as coating titanium alloy with 18k gold, but many failed. (´;ω;`)uuuuu

Just as I was about to give up, I came across a company. According to the person, it may be possible to fix it by peeling off the black film on the surface of the titanium. I waited for the prototype to be completed. Take a step forward! ! !

However, since we first used 18-karat gold, the color was close to copper and there was no gloss, so it wasn't very beautiful. So we changed to 24K gold and it was a huge success! \(^o^)/

A jewelry that combines durability and beauty has been born.

*For those with a floating ring

From November 2023 onwards, we will be changing to titanium alloy for free! ! We apologize for the inconvenience, but please bring it to Omotesando Harajuku Main Store!
